Bead Board Bathroom Loves Claw Foot Tub

Cottage After - With Bead Board
Our cottage was built in 1925, so it's pretty astounding that it had an indoor bathroom. One of the elders in our home association told me that our cottage was built as a display home and the indoor bath was a selling point.

Here's what it looked like when we bought the place.

Cottage Bathroom Before - Tiled Walls

Sometime in, I suspect, the '80s, the walls were tiled in these mauve porcelain tiles and the sink was replaced with a modern pedestal that didn't really match the old clawfoot tub, which luckily remained.

My intent was to give the whole bathroom a "period look". We did not have the budget for true tongue and groove bead board - the old fashioned kind that fits one slat into the other - however, bead board panelling installed right over the tiles turned out just fine after a coat or two of paint.

The paint color is Benjamin Moore Lemongrass. The sink and toilet are from the Kohler Bancroft line.
